To log into Scopus:

  1. Click the Login link on the top-right hand corner of the page.
  2. In the box that appears, click the Athens / Other Institution login link at the bottom.
  3. Select UK Access Management Federation from the drop down menu on the left.
  4. Then click on Manchester Metropolitan University in the list of institutions that appears on the right.
  5. Users are then taken to the MMU login page where they can enter their details as normal.

EndNote information

These EndNote instructions may differ depending on whether you are on or off-campus and on the browser you are using. If the instructions do not work please refer to the EndNote or Endnote Web help pages.

It is possible to transfer records from Scopus to your EndNote library via Direct Export. To do this:

  1. Run a search on Scopus and then mark the records that you would like to export by clicking on the box to the left of each record.
  2. Select Export.
  3. Using the drop-down menu, change Export Format to RIS format (Reference Manager, ProCite and EndNote).
  4. Select Export.
  5. A dialog box opens and asks if you would like to save or open the file. Select Open.
  6. You will be asked to select the EndNote library into which you wish to transfer the records.
  7. Once your library opens, the records will be automatically transferred.

Endnote Web

It is possible to transfer records from Scopus to your EndNote library via an Import Filter. To do this:

  • Run a search on Scopus and then mark the records that you would like to export by clicking on the box to the left of each record.
  • Select Export.
  • Using the drop-down menu, change Export Format to RIS format (Reference Manager, ProCite and EndNote).
  • Select Export.
  • A dialog box opens and asks if you would like to save or open the file, select Save.
  • Retain the default file format Endnote Import File and save it to the area of your choice, making a note of the area and the file name.
  • Open your EndNote Web Library, click on the Collect tab and click on Import References.
  • Click on Browse... to locate the file you have just saved.
  • Select Scopus from the list of Import Options and then the group from the TO: drop down menu before selecting the Import button.
  • Please note that institutional authors (eg, Department of Health) will be transferred incorrectly as they are treated as personal authors. You will need to manually edit any records where the author is an organisation or institution.
