The library has a selection of electronic databases which contain references to journal articles on specific subjects. It is easier and more efficient to use this sort of database than to look through the contents pages and indexes of individual journals. The databases can be searched quickly by subject or keyword. The results of your search will either provide the full text of journal articles or will refer you to articles in specific journals. Where a database only provides references, you'll normally be able to use the Find It! service to locate a copy of the article.
Where a database doesn't support Find It!, you'll need to search for the journal titles manually:
For more information, contact an Enquiry Desk, either in person or via e-mail.
Other databases provide different information, such as company accounts, law reports, or technical standards. Helpsheets on making the best use of these resources are available at each library and via the helpsheets index.
Databases are available via this index. Most are Web-based resources, and many are accessible from outside the University. In order to access most databases remotely, you may need to use your MMU ID or another ID/user name and password. Further information can be found in our help for electronic resources, and from Enquiry Desks, either in person or via e-mail, or in our Guide to the Electronic Library (PDF format).
